- Max head: 8 m to 18 m
- Max pressure: 10 bar to 16 bar
- Liquid temperature: -10 .. 120 °C
Principle of Operation
Like other centrifugal pumps, Grundfos circulator pumps utilise an impeller to generate pressure, which forces fluid through the system. The impeller is driven by a motor located at the center of the pump. This motor is powered by electricity and rotates the impeller. The blades of the impeller create a low-pressure zone at the center of the pump, which draws water in from the inlet. As the water passes through the impeller blades, pressure increases and the high-pressure water is then discharged through the outlet for heating needs.

Principle of Operation
Grundfos dosing pumps can be controlled either mechanically or digitally, providing a range of options for various applications. Both types use a flexible diaphragm driven by a motor to precisely dose fluids.
In the mechanical models, the pump head is connected to a motor, often through a worm gearbox that converts the motor’s rotational motion into cam movement. This cam movement drives a piston that compresses the diaphragm within the pump head. When the piston pushes down, the diaphragm flexes and expels fluid through an outlet valve. The dosing capacity of the pump is controlled by adjusting both the stroke length and the stroke rate.
On the other hand, Grundfos digital dosing pumps utilise variable-speed stepper motors for more precise and continuous dosing. These pumps feature internal stroke speed control, allowing for smooth and continuous dosing without the need to adjust the stroke length. This design enhances accuracy and ensures consistent dosing, even when dealing with fluids of varying viscosity or degassing media.
Grundfos offers a variety of control options, including Flow Control Measurement (FCM), Flow Control (FC), Analogue Relay (AR), and more, allowing for flexible control tailored to different needs.

Grundfos horizontal split case pumps, like many centrifugal pumps, operate by rotating an impeller within a casing to move fluid. The blades of the impeller create a low-pressure area at the center, which draws fluid in from the suction side and forces it outward through centrifugal force. This process increases the fluid’s velocity and pressure, directing it toward the pump outlet. In models with two stages, these pumps can generate higher pressures as the fluid passes through two impeller stages.

- Heads: Up to 305 m
Applications
- Cooling lubricants and cutting oil for machine tools, grinding machines, machining centres
- Condensate transfer
- Filter pumps
- Other industrial liquid transfer applications where submersible pumps are not suitable
Range
Grundfos submersible and immersible pumps are centrifugal in type and are widely used for handling water from an underground or any below the surface source. Unlike normal above ground pump, submersible pumps must be submerged totally with its sealed motor into the water. Meanwwhile, immersible pumps are mounted in vertical position with the motor above the liquid and the pump end extended below the liquid level.
Before the pumping begins, the pump must be filled with fluid to start priming. After starting on the system, the impeller is rotated by the motor. Running in a high speed, water transferred is likewise rotated. Under centrifugal force, water is thrown far away from impeller, moving to the tip of the vanes until it falls to the volute. With added pressure, the fluid now flows out through the outlet. At that time, vacuum low pressure zone is formed in the center of impeller, causing fluid to flow continuously.

Principle of Operation
Grundfos submersible and immersible pumps are centrifugal in type and are widely used for handling water from an underground or any below the surface source. Unlike normal above ground pump, submersible pumps must be submerged totally with its sealed motor into the water. Meanwhile, immersible pumps are mounted in vertical position with the motor above the liquid and the pump end extended below the liquid level.

Grundfos range of booster pumps are centrifugal type hence use the same working principle. Booster pumps boost water pressure and, in many cases, improves the flow rate. They rely upon one or more impellers to draw the pumped fluid into the intake of the pump, and to boost its pressure as the fluid passes through the impeller and the volute or diffuser casing. Some are single-stage, meaning that they have a single impeller. These are generally used in applications where the amount of additional pressure (head) that is required is not significant. There are also multi-stage configurations involving more than one impeller, which are used to deliver higher heads such as would be required to move water up to substantially higher elevations or through much longer pipelines.
